For close to a year, Motiontronic has been working hand in hand with a prominent mining mineral processing firm to develop the worlds’ first and largest servo driven sampling hammer.
This sampling application requires a massive amount of torque so the Baumuller DST2 High torque motor perfectly suited this application. To compliment the motor, a Baumuller Bmaxx5000 series acceleration servo drive was used to run the powerhouse of a motor that can deliver a peak torque of 18 400Nm directly on the motor shaft.
The rigorous factory acceptance testing has recently been completed and the assembly is currently on its way to its destination for final installation.
