Our client requested us to come up with a design for an automatic pipe cutter machine which can cut programmed cut lengths and qty for piping they use on there truck builds. Motion Tronic designed the once off machine from beginning to end including mechanical and electrical. Once the design was complete our experienced team then built the machine according to the design. The end result was a machine which exceeded the customers expectations and 45% faster than original design specs. Using Siemens PLC hardware we were able to use a closed loop positioning application running a standard asynchronous motor and achieving 0.1mm accuracy. This was all about simple hardware but efficient powerful software and achieving a cost effective solution for the customer.
